Punk Planet is awesome, and not just because they review like a billion CD's each issue - the articles and columns are pretty cool too. For more info click on the link, which will take you to their website - they don't list CD reviews on the site, so that's why we reprint the "Leaf Tornado" review here. This is from the March/April '05 issue, which was entitled "Slint Reunited" and had a blue-and-white sketch of the band on the cover. I'll try to say more about this issue once I'm done reading it, but for now here's the review:

"There's just something about recording an album about loneliness on a four-track that makes it more poignant. Mark Mandeville's Conor Obherst-style vocals and stripped-down, acoustic confessional pop would be nearly as good if it were polished. I've been continually impressed by this little, lo-fi oriented label." (Lisa Weingarth)
